A good point, and an omission I'm frequently guilty of.
Someone trotted out the idea a few months back of posting a monthly
"WC FAQ", outlining list etiquette, appropriate topics for discussion and so
on.
In the absence of our moderator as he recovers from the terrible loss he
has has suffered, it has not really been possible or appropriate to tinker
with the workings of the list. (Nor especially necessary: I think it's a
tribute to Al's excellent work in developing this list that it continues to
operate so comapratively well even without his involvement, by and large.)
I would be happy to prepare a draft of a WC FAQ, with input from all
interested parties; once we have an acceptable version, perhaps we could
forward it to Al for his thoughts, and if he wants to go with it we can
start posting it occasionally.
If you have general comments on the appropriateness of this proposal,
please post them to the list.
If you have specific suggestions for points to be included in a FAQ, please
send them to me off-list.
