Hi All:
Well, I was brought down a couple of pegs today. Went to see a new
client (which I rarely do) and to demonstrate to him my talents, I
brought up my latest creation on his MAC Performa 6115. Man, whatta
DOWNER! My pride and joy looked like a 3rd grader's crayon drawing. I
know little about MAC's, almost nothing, but the resolution sucked, the
"browser safe" colors were all washed out, and some of the graphics just
fell apart. The client for whom I prepared the site is tres happy with
it, but if he were viewing it on my new clients MAC, he'd be sueing me
for the $7.5K he paid me for it. I was very careful to observe all the
rules ... max width 640 pixels, browser safe colors, sizing all graphics
in the html, etc. What do you do about this? Design everything as if
it were going to be displayed on Etch-A-Sketch? I'm running an IBM
clone 486 with a 1024 by whatever rez monitor, definitely not state of
the art, but I'll take it any day over the MAC. Any comments? Man, I'm
going home and drink TWO beers tonite.
Gerry
