I have developed a system to do just that. I call it Magic Update
and it has been the difference for getting many jobs.
A specific area(s) on a page(s) is designated as MU areas. Anyone
with web access enters a userid, password, and process name. A very user
friendly form is then display which has the current contents in a text
area. It can be edited or changed. The new area can optionally overwrite
or be inserted before or after the existing text.
A demo is at:

There are two MU areas, gold and blue, on the page. To use it as a
regular user might, go to:
http://usats.com/magic
enter: demo, demo, gold to edit the edit area, or
demo, demo, blud to edit the blud area.
If you click the HTML radio button, the entire update area,
including HTML code is displayed.
I've done all kinds of interesting applications using the
technique. I black board special page for a restaurant is very effective.
