Well, I just got Red Hat 5.0 installed and configured. Went really
smoothly, just exited windows into dos mode, put it the CD and typed
autoboot and that was it. Linux picked up all my software (except the SB16
sound card which I can always install later as it is supported).
However! When I restarted the machine it asked me for my ID to which I
typed 'root' and my password. Then I got the message: [root@localhost
/root]# and I can't go any further. Nor can I find anywhere in the ondisk
doco's what sort of input I'm supposed to give it. Can anyone enlighten me
please?
One thing was particularly enjoyable - installing thru dos and then using
Disk Druid to totally wipe out the previous windows partitions, both 95 and
NT. Now there's just Linux on the box. Now if it will only let me in. . . .
help!
Regards
