    Older future domain controllers are a problem. As are some older
Adaptec controlers, depending on rev number...

    There are some problems at times.  You need to make sure the server
accepts your login.  FTP usually works when NFS may not.  Other Linux
users are often willing to help quite a bit. See ifthere is a linux club

    Right now, I am trying to rebuild two machines that were hacked via
imapd.  (And I am not 100% sure about this one...)  If you do get it up,
turn imapd off in /etc/inetd.conf. TUrn off everything you don't need!  
That includes remore logings etc.

    Linux is more secure than Windows, but it still has problems with evil
people want to take you down.
