I once gave my Dad a "collector" Case commemorative "Astronaut"
knife. Several years later, I told my Dad that a knife collector
book said that particular knife was worth nearly a thousand
dollars. He replied that its real value is only as high as what
someone is willing to pay for it. Therefore, if someone, or some
company, is willing to pay $6G for Exite, then that's what it is
worth (at least, to the buyer.) I, myself, fail to see the value
in a McDonald's franchise that costs nearly a million dollars,
takes nearly ten years to go black, and requires the franchisee
to work x number of hours per week in each location under his
franchise. Obviously, some do see a value there, or we wouldn't
see as many McDonald's as we do.
