This whole portal think passed me buy or I haven't found my niche. In 
IE I use a blank page and in Netscape I did find this portal page 
that I signed up for just because it was an idea for a website.

I use all the search engines and go back and forth.

Now that is interesting.  I can see it if you can install it over the 
web but otherwise I think most people will just not go there.  I 
think one reason that some people might use these 'portal' sites is 
because they are just too lazy to create their own home-pages. They 
don't want to bother to learn an html editor (never mind html).

But if they could go to a website, click buttons and create a 
personal portal site that they can then save on their computer ..... 
no ... it would be too much trouble for them to find it once they 
saved it.
