Well, I don't think that approach really works very well. You can only put
so much information on a single page. The portals I've seen have a few news
headlines and some other stuff, but so what? That's hardly a useful
presentation of the news, TV schedules are different regionally as is the
weather. I much prefer a dedicated news site with an opening page that
shows me much more news, a bookmarked weather page that shows me the
weather over my head, etc.

I just don't think the portal concept works very well. This too shall pass...


And Kathy, I haven't upgraded to OS8.5 with Sherlock yet because I don't
want to void the warranty on my UMAX Mac clone :>)  They don't support that
OS, though it will probably work fine. But I don't want to push it. And
other people I know say that 8.5 is not always as stable os 8.1.
