Rich,

Linux certainly has been getting a lot of "buzz" lately. I'm personally
aware of several commercial sites that are using NT successfully
(http://www.finehomesandestates.com and http://www.usa.samsungsemi.com),
but to date neither site has needed more than one web server machine and
one database server machine. The Samsung site initially had some database
reliability problems with SQL Server and JDBC, but ever since those
problems were resolved it has been smooth sailing. The
www.finehomesandestates.com site had an HP RAID5 disk array failure, but
hasn't had any other problems with NT or SQL Server.

Are you aware of any benchmarks that show roughly how many hits a typical
Linux PC web server (probably running Apache, I guess) can handle?

Thx,
