DICE is a placement agency and job shop haven. Mostly it is the less
independent folks who hang out there, but since they do have search
engines and such tied into the system there, it is not that bad a place
for agency types to hang out.

Depends on what you want... See http://www.mall-net.com/webcons/ for
the articles on dealing with job shops and telemarketing yourself.

As to experience... Find something you did that is memorable and
shows either inventiveness or character. I remember I got a job simply
because I talked about my home robot experiments, and how I analyzed the
needs of robotic control systems. When it sprang to life, Klunkenspiel
bashed his wooden head against the roof beam and wrenched out it's hip
joints. Klankenspiel, the metal "roguebot", put gashes into my kitchen
dishwasher, and later took chunks out of the concrete curb on the back road
that I tested him on. (He was a biclobot, a battery/computer pod mounted
between two bicycle wheels, and would spin totally out of control whenever
he threw a chain.)

(Sigh...) Such is the life of a mad scientist... Not quite as bad
as http://www.mall-net.com/javilk/madsci.html , but...

     Next project, the Hibachi monster...???
