Probably both. I was using a worst-case scenario, assuming he had no usable
computerized database and we'd be starting from scratch. Then there would
be software and data entry expenses for them, as well as the additional
costs for figuring out exactly what they want. I'm just trying to come up
with an intelligent price range proposal. I've never had a customer
complain about my work, and I'd turn away a job I'm not competent to do.
I certainly defer to those more experienced to point out my shortcomings and
steer me in the right direction. I don't come from a programming
background; I'm just now learning to program with VB and plan to begin Perl
soon. I came in from the html and graphics side, and have been taking
classes constantly to learn what else I need to know.
