Gee, you could have fooled me! I am running Lynx Version 2.8.1pre.9
(10 Oct 1998), and it does not show tables as tables. One liners such as:
(TR)(TD) col1 (/TD)(TD) col2 (/TR) will work, even if they are not spaced
into tables. But it does not seem to put columns together if they are not
already together. (Using parens instead of angle brackets.)

Hmmm... You could have fooled me! I just checked it against some of
my table stuff, and it does not translate the HTML to anything even
vaguely resembling tables.
Is there some special trick you are using? Something about how you
format your tables or such? If there is, I am sure many of us would like
to hear it so as to write better sites.
