Just playing catch-up after several weeks of overlapping deadlines.

It appears that Mr. Stevens' question was never resolved:

This was followed by much weeping/wailing/gnashing of teeth
until finally, on 26Feb Guido wrote:

I think I have a suggestion that will work.

Having recently acquired a small PC as a pet for my Mac
network, I---of course---decided to install my favorite email
software on the new arrival. Got a box labelled "Eudora Pro
v4.0", just like the one I put on my Mac. Most things
looked the same...until I got to the Tools>Options menu.

Instead of the nice, familiar Styled Text thingy, I had to
deal with these dialog boxes in order to beat the
Styled-Text Dragon(tm) into submission:

1. If I neverever want to used styled text:
     Tools>Options>Miscellaneous
     5th item from the bottom=
        "Discard styles before sending messages"
     Click the check box.

2. If I want to use styled text for some recipients
     but not for others:
     Tools>Options>Extra Warnings
     5th item from the top=
[Warn me when I] "Queue a message with styled text"
     Click the check box.

Now, apparently SOME Windows users have Eudora v4.0
that has the normal Tools>Options>Styled Text menu item
and some of us have THE SAME EXACT VERSION NUMBER
with DIFFERENT &@%!ed MENU ITEMS.
[sorry, didn't mean to shout at *you*]

Guido, I don't know whether your client got caught with this
particular sub-version gotcha, but you might offer them the
information about the Miscellaneous and Extra Warnings
dialogs. If it's not too late. If they haven't switched in total
frustration to telephone calls or carrier pigeons.

Excuse me. I've got to finish renovating the old dovecote on
the porch roof....
