Mm... "lies, damned lies, and statistics", to quote Disraeli... there 
is nothing even remotely objective or random about the data compiled 
on the StatMarket site.  Although the company claims to provide a "a 
highly accurate source of data on Internet user trends", in fact all 
their numbers show is the traffic patterns on a relatively small 
number of sites (40,000) that have installed the HitBox Tracker 
utility. 

Tracker is a Java-based application that apparently displays 
"realtime" useage figures to visitors.  This is all fine and well, 
but it immediately skews the statistics considerably: it reports only 
the traffic passing through a small number of sites whose owners have 
opted to install a rather pointless Java gimmick.  Which would 
immediately exclude the great majority of "mainstream" sites around 
the Web.

According to the B.M. Eades Media Corp, my opinions on this topic are 
correct 97.25% of the time, 19 times out of 20 :)
