I can't make Eclipse crash even when I press Enter (after at least 20 attempts). I guess I should continue using 3.3.1.1 under Leopard until it causes problems.
If 3.3.1.1 doesn't crash for you, you're just plain lucky. As long as it isn't an issue for you, 3.3.1.1 should be fine -- that's really the only reason to move away from 3.3.1.1. However, I assure you, the crash is there :) I would easily crash 5 times a day with 3.3.1.1, and keyboard navigation of Open Type is such a common process, it's very hard to change workflows to switch over to the mouse (which is a lot slower). It became so bad that I'd always have to pause for a second before I hit enter to select from lists in OTHER apps because I was trying so hard to fight muscle memory from Eclipse. It is truly infuriating triggering it, and I just can't recommend 3.3.1.1 for Leopard (even if you happen to be scratching off winning lottery tickets :) ).

P.S. After trying out 3.3.1.1, I think it's actually that you type a partial, down-arrow to pick a class from the shortened list, then hit enter to select it, which sends the enter event to the unfocused text field, causing a crash. I think you have to be focused in the list (but not with mouse selection). This may sound esoteric, but anyone who uses keyboard nav in eclipse will run into constantly.
