That developer is blowing smoke up your you know what.

$25k is the price of a *good* developer for about 2 or 3 months.  It's
unrealistic to expect to get a good, well tested, fully functional, well
documented lightweight WebObjects in that timeframe.

Hell, I spent about 1.5 months on my PowerPerl product which is no where
near WebObjects (it's embedded perl in HTML pages)... and I didn't even get
into developer and user documentation.

If you believe such a developer, as above, then you deserve everything
you'll end up with....

I wouldn't stake my business on it.
