What exactly will it take to make it clear that the legal rules here are *NOT* of Sun's making? They're rules imposed by the IPR restrictions on things that Sun bought long ago. We don't get to renegotiate them now. Heck, if we could, we'd have done it long before ever launching OpenSolaris. (And, in many cases, did do that for things you don't even notice. The remaining bits are the refactory ones.) At this point, the right answer is elimination and replacement of the encumbered bits, not email. Complaining about lawyers on this list will just not do any good, either for the code or for sender of the message. People have been doing that since at least Shakespeare's time with little noticable change. -- James Carlson, Solaris Networking <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sun Microsystems / 35 Network Drive 71.232W Vox +1 781 442 2084 MS UBUR02-212 / Burlington MA 01803-2757 42.496N Fax +1 781 442 1677 _______________________________________________ website-discuss mailing list [email protected]
