index.html created, but the report generator kept barreling on after the
error and still created the images and the other component files.
Once I added a single parameter to each of these lines then V5 ran to
completion (but not fast). I am not sure if there was one in particular

How exactly did you delete the sensor fields you did not have ? Why are
you doing so ?
I'd suggest starting over with a clean current v5 Seasons skin. See what
it does. Then if you have bogus db values for a specific element you want
to hide from being displayed, remove only that item from the .conf file
entries and see if that's good enough.
Hacking and slashing under the hood of .conf files can cause some
incredible chaos at runtime if you try to over-optimize. Same goes for
removing db elements.
