Another difference between versions 4 and 5 reports that has had me baffled
for far too long.
For my V4 Seasons Skin I had deleted the sensor fields that I did not have,
which led to empty fields in the skin file, such as:
sensor_connections =
sensor_batteries =
sensor_voltages =
telemetry_plot_groups =
This was fine with V4, but caused nasty problems with V5 - there was no
index.html created, but the report generator kept barreling on after the
error and still created the images and the other component files.
Once I added a single parameter to each of these lines then V5 ran to
completion (but not fast). I am not sure if there was one in particular
causing the problem.
How exactly did you delete the sensor fields you did not have ? Why are
you doing so ?
With a text editor. There is no accessible equivalent on my hardware and
they are not in my schema.
Why? reduce unnecesssary clutter.
Long version: I use a dual binding, incorporating data from my ecowitt
system into the reports. I initially replaced the Davis names with
equivalents from my ecowitt schema, but, after it was explained to me that
the only names recognised in this part of the skin are those from
wx_binding, I removed them. This left empty fields, which the report
generator code in V4 was happy with.
I'd suggest starting over with a clean current v5 Seasons skin. See what
it does.
That was where I started, it is the basis for some of my other posts here.
After getting huge times with my mysql DB (12m50s CPU, 18m elapsed time), I
transfered a copy to sqlite format and* it took 4min 30sec CPU time
running the default V5 Seasons skin*.
I am not here to demand these issues get fixed - I realise that tinkering
leave one open to these problems - but I am just pointing out some issues
that might affect a small number of users so that they are aware of what to
look for. It was cutting unused parameters out of V5 Seasons skin.con that
got the time down to 8 seconds with those DBs.
