OK. Found another two issues.
At the service restart it would be helpful to add a 15 sec delay for running the Vantage driver after the service start. When I restart the service, the connection is apparently not closed from the station's side. The new instance is not working after the restart. After reboot, all was fine, which was rather curious. So I decided to experiment and found out that if I do not use > systemctl restart weewx.service < but use > systemctl stop weewx.service < + 10 s and afterwards >systemctl start weewx.service<, all works well. My IP connection issues had nothing to do with the firmware. Have a good day.
