During the year and a half that I lived on a horse farm in Lafayette,
Colorado (about nine miles due east of Boulder), I never even had a
key to our building -- we didn't use keys. Just left the doors
unlocked. Same for the cars -- I kept forgetting to shut the windows,
and would wake up in the morning to find the seats wet from
rain/covered in snow.
