I read the book "Wicked" because my best friend saw
the musical and loved it and said it was the story of
our friendship (guess which one I am), but the book
was nothing like she described the musical, so now I'm
tempted to go see the musical when I get a chance just
to compare the two. The book was a tough read and not
enough of a payoff at the end to justify the whole
thing, but not as awful as some I've read before.
I've tried a few books recently that I had to just put
down and walk away from. On the other hand, "Ragtime"
by E.L. Doctorow was MUCH harder to get into initially
but actually gave you a good payoff for the time
invested. I'm looking forward to "The March", which
is on my shelf, not yet opened... waiting for me!

I hate it when reading a book feels like a chore to
get to the good stuff and then the good stuff doesn't
really pan out. Sheesh. Movies can be like that,
too.

Yeah, same here. I might give Confessions of an Ugly
Stepsister a try
as soon as I clear my library shelf. I'm trying to get
into American
Psycho, but I probably won't have time until it's due
back at the ol'
biblioteca.

Maybe I'll just rent the movie...
