Here is our very short term plan:
1) We're working to switch openwengo repository to use mercurial dvcs
(http://www.selenic.com/mercurial)
When we'll finish (hopefully this week) i'll publish the new
repository URL
That's what I don't like. I would prefer git over mercurial. Specially cause
of performance (git-gc and git protocol) and "data integrity" (git-fsck).

I'm sure that we don't want to start a flame war,
I'm sure that in some aspects git is better than mercurial
The choice of mercuriual is based on follownig:
1) At mbdsys we're using mostly Mercurial so it is easier for us
2) I was one of early contributors to Mercurial so i know the internals
much better tha those of git
3) I've good contacts in mercurial developper community so problem
solving will be easier
