Follow-up Comment #8, patch #1032 (project wesnoth):

Rhuvaen, I like the method you are suggesting (flagging sides as being
defeated/continuing), and I agree that it provides a lot of flexibility to
scenario authors.  I think this would be a good direction to go.

I think that if a side's result is not specified earlier in the scenario, and
that side's team is not the winning team, then that side should be given a
'continue' (could be changed by a scenario-level key).

Anyone else's opinion on this new approach?

I will try to work on another patch to implement this (along with the
cleaned-up handling of the end_level_exception from the last patch), but it
might not be ready for a while as I've got to study for finals.
