Follow-up Comment #8, patch #1093 (project wesnoth):
the crash is not related to the patch as VC don't use gnu-style assembler
code embedding (which means sdl_stdinc.h is not used in VC compiled SDL). I
think the problem is caused by multi-language support. Because while running
my gcc 4.4 compiled binary, the dialogs with new widget framework are
displayed but with all squared characters (even when I removed translations
folder). Note that my OS supports eastern-langugae.
rev 28781-28783 works for VC9, but actually not required.
I've not tested codes with VC8 or earlier yet, as I just re-installed my OS
with only VC9 installed.
