Follow-up Comment #5, bug #15882 (project wesnoth):
I am not sure the monitor can have any bpp limitation. The graphics cards
have. Yes, I have tried setting X server video driver to 16 bpp as you
describe. I do not see it. Please paste your Section "Device" of your
graphics card.
