Follow-up Comment #1, bug #22928 (project wesnoth):
If you select English (US) or any other language that's not "system default"
in the Language menu, you should no longer see the hidden prefix in the game.
This seems to be a side-effect of bug #22921, because I can only reproduce it
on 1.12 (missing the fix atm) and not master.
