About user registration it would be a great addition provided that it is not mandatory.
About rating i don't know if it is desirable, IMHO it shouldn't be mandatory, but it is in fact not a simple problem : There is in fact several kind of games that coexists on the same game server : - Mini MP campaigns (of one scenario) : quite rare, but may become more frequent when the MP campaigns would be supported. Ranking is more or less useless here. - Traditionnal matches : the most common kind of games. Those are the games where ranking is the most commonly expected. For those who like ranked games a more automatic system would be an interesting bonus. Of course the games settings may alter the "rankablility" - Other Scenarios : Currently MinDotW and Survival games are quite common on the 1.1.1 server. Ranking might be interesting for some scenarios. In particular i think Roze would probably appreciate to have a Hall of Fame for his survival scenarios. But : - since it is usually a different kind of game it shall be a separate rating - for some scenarios the "performance" shall be measured differently For example in some Survival scenarios you are expected to be defeated. The performance is the number of turn you resist. In Wesbowl the performance is the number of goals you score. - for some scenarios some sides shall not be ranked or ranked differently since all players don't have equal roles. In particular in scenarios where the AI has a role like MinDotW & Survival. Sometimes a player replaces the AI. People like me, Roze, Elvish Pillager, Tomsik and various others do develop a MP scenarios and from time to time some introduce a new kind of of MP game. Some of them may become popular. If rating is supported, it shall be flexible to rate differently different kinds of games on the same server. I think it would be interesting to allow the scenario maker to specify how the rating should work (so inside the scenario itself). Can FGS do things like that ? Noyga
