For #3 are you saying that we should not have a remerging of the lines at
lvl2?
I think a level 2 merging is fine. I was only addressing an ambiguity
in the way you described it. From your description it wasn't clear
whether you were thinking of a merging of unit lines or considering
not having a merging, but still using the same graphics. The former
works well, the latter would be bad.
