Okay, I have committed this now. I have a few performance concerns: it can take up to ~50ms to blur the background to a large dialog on my computer, and I have a pretty fast computer. I'd like feedback from users of slower computers on if it delays dialog pop-up times a noticeable amount. Othewise, I think it looks nice. Thanks to Jetryl for suggesting this.
