As my original email noted, these grants make us a more inclusive
organization than without them. We have GSOC which has dispensed
approximately 60,000 dollars to our project that is purely limited to
one area: programming. Is that really being inclusive when less than
half of our project only receives funding and support? These grants
offers money to areas that don't receive any financial support: Art
and high quality user made content. Last years money for art produced
pretty substantial results from Kitty and TSI, which we would have not
otherwise obtained. The third type of grant is aimed at individuals
who have thus far not been adequately represented among our
developers. It makes us a more inclusive organization overall when you
think about it.
