Dear all, This accident occurred last Friday on the 27th/07 at about 8.30pm. I can confirm this because i was traveling to Arua that evening for a Board meeting when i met it had just occurred with all the nine dead who were all accompanying a dead body for burial to Tara village in Maracha District. At the time of our arrival the nine bodies and the coffin were all at the scene untouched and shocking! All of us began to shiver and i must say everybody with us was caught up in a sadden reflection of what life is all about. Even our driver who was a little faster before we met this sickening scene slowed down up to our arrival at Arua. At this time non of us could hardly identify any of the victim a part from seeing at least the nine were accompanying the coffin on board.
This Driver (though he survived) of a Toyota Double Cabin registration no. for Local Government 36 (probably Jinja District) crashed right under a stationery Trailer at the road side. One or two lessons can be learnt: Speed control while driving and even more control needed when driving at night. For a driver who is not familiar with the road has to avoid venturing at night although this is no exceptions to knowing the road or not alike.we especially at this age in time should also reflect on how we should bury our loved one. Note all these people were nearly close relatives and all from Maracha if not all from the same village. was it necessary to leave that late and end up in the bad sections of our roads at night. Yes it is true the road is smooth but it is not safe! All these lessons are food for thought.
