Check out Logalot from Somix.com  That product allows for monitoring event logs on systems in non-trusted domains.  Each server can be authenticated uniquely so it can monitor servers in different domains, trusted and non trusted domains.

OK - that leads to my question:

Is is possible to monitor event logs on remote servers in non-trusted domains?  Here is our setup:

We support our customers via router-to-router VPN tunnels.  We can remote to their servers and workstations as required using their private addressing scheme.  We can log into their servers with local domain accounts set up for us.  My problem is how to authenticate from WUG so that I can monitor their services and event logs.

That's the problem.  You need to change the WhatsUp Gold Windows Events service so that it logs in under an account that has Administrative privileges on the other systems that you want to monitor.  (If you are using Domain security, then an account in the "Domain Admins" group usually does the trick).

You don't need to install anything on the remote box, as long as it is running Windows 2000 or XP.
