Five basic steps we follow.

1. Put WUG on a box under lock and key.
2. Use another monitoring box (we use NetSaint) to check HTTP on WUG (also
under lock and key)
3. Monitor NetSaint as you would any other device.
4. As part of your disaster plan, ROUTINELY test all aspects of potential
failurs for notifications. (pagers, dialers, email, popups, cellphone, SMS,
sound, ETC.)
5. Document everything.
