We configured the Web/SNMP network card to send traps to the WhatsUp
workstation. We then configured the workstation to page us depending on
what trap was sent. You will have to download the MIB from APC,
APC did not have the MIB on their site, they emailed me the link. It may be
there now, but just in case:
ftp://ftp.apcc.com/apc/public/software/pnetmib/mib/344/
You will then need to run mibextra to add the APC MIBs into the mibs.txt and
trap.txt. This information is on page 204 and 205 of the WhatsUp guide.
Look at the trap.txt file, then go to each device on the map and monitor for
the specific traps you want to be paged on.

Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] What's UP and APC Smart UPS
I want to monitor my APC Smart UPS for power failure notifications.
Currently my APC will email me if I have a power failure; however, I
want my What's Up to monitor the UPS and when a power failure is
detected (on battery) have What's Up send me a page instead of having
the APC send an email. Anyone know how to monitor the status of the APC
(on battery, discharged, battery needs replacing, etc)?
Thanks in advance.
Adam
