I would suggest backing up your WhatsUp Gold directory and then running:

1)Uninstall
2)Install v8.01
3)Apply v8.01 Hotfix 1.

The backup is insurance... an uninstall will clean up your registry but not touch your
data files (maps, logs, etc). The registry cleanup should deal with the patch warning
that you encountered.

When installing the patch, I get a popup window that says "Patch Warning - Missing or
Invalid Registry/INI entry" with an OK/Cancel. If I cancel the update aborts, if I
click OK, I get "Patch Error - Old File does not exist" After clicking OK the patch
installer quits. Verified, and I *am* running 8.01.

Help?

Hi Gang,

Just a quick note to let you know that the patch that fixes those pesky WhatsUp Gold
8.x memory leaks is now available for general distribution.

Here's what the patch does--

Fixes Buffer overrun in SNMPGrph.exe
Fixes a memory leak that occurred during polling (SNMPGrph.exe)
Fixes a memory leak when monitoring Windows Events (WinEvnt.exe)

Here's where you get it--
