Hi, I just installed WUP ("Evaluation version" - because I want to test it before I go to the real environment).

My problem is when I try to log into the web access. I read in the help file that the username/password for the administrator is "admin/admin" but it says "Failed to decrypt password". I also tried without password but it still doesn't work.

I also read that the user/pass for the guest account is "guest/guest" but that combination doesn't work either but I can log in if I type "guest" without password. The problem, like you should know, is that I don't have the right to configure WUP via the web access.

I didn't see any place in the console environment where you can configure users for the web site like we did in the last version of What's Up.

Thank you in advance.

I second that. We have school districts up in Alaska that shut their

equipment down in the summer time. In WUG 8 all we did was put it in

inactive mode-all greyed out. We like the feature of this so our map isnt

full of alarms or in WUP, all orange full of maintaince modes. Can we

please get this added?

But then it shows as being in maintenance. What if I have a device that

I want to show on my maps (like a fax), but I can't monitor it. I want

it on the map, so I can track the fax number, the model number and even

what toner it uses. However I don't want it monitored, and I don't want

any status at all to show in the map, or in upper level maps. In WUG I

could just turn off monitoring of the device. I also set the color for

status inactive (unmonitored) to white with a very small box.

Was the inactive/unmonitored state removed in WUP? If so why. I would

say that I have 20% of my devices in WUG set as inactive. I really like

the idea of maintenance, but not at the loss of inactive.

Thank You

Jeff,

Sounds like you have a device with no active monitors (device is gray

and

status is unknown). You could put the device into maintenance mode:

Device Properties>Polling>Maintenance>Force this device....

I'm not sure what affect leaving something with an unknown status does

to

your reports, but I do know Maintenance mode is accounted for properly.

In WUG you would set a device to be unmonitored. How do you do this in

WUP? I see a status of unknown, but in WUG there was also a status of

inactive.

Thank You
