Here's the way that login works. Passwords are stored encrypted. When you log in the stored password has to be decrypted and compared with what you just submitted. This decryption is done on the WhatsUp Professional PC The decryption is not proprietary.. it is performed via a call to a system resource.
Now that is what is failing.. the call to something that already exists on your system. Or, in your case, something that does not exist. Therefore, can I ask what OS and Service Pack you are running? What language? What version of IE? What hotfixes applied? I also read that the user/pass for the guest account is "guest/guest" but that combination doesn't work either but I can log in if I type "guest" without password. The problem, like you should know, is that I don't have the right to configure WUP via the web access. I didn't see any place in the console environment where you can configure users for the web site like we did in the last version of What's Up.
