Most of that information is in the table
called Device in the database. It might be best for you to create a blank MS
Access database and then link the Whats Up database to that via a DSN. Then
you can use the Device table just like a Access database and easily make
queries against it. I would caution not to change anything
unless you absolutely know what it is. I noticed the Device Type is a number
in the database so you need to find the corresponding number. I was able to quickly create a query and
change over 500 SMNP communities this way in about 1 minute (the time it took
to write the query). I think will some experience with the
database, the multiple select issue becomes very minor. (IMO) Thanks, Steve Warnock Advanced Computer Connections 419-668-4080 From:

[mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of David Summers I just spoke with support and they have
identified this as something they are working on, hopefully for SP1. I
still need to modify the properties of several devices at once, i.e. SNMP
communities, device types, actions, dependencies. If there is anyone who knows the database
way of doing this, then please let me know. I am not a DBA and really
only work with databases in a limited way. Please let me know how to do
this. Thanks,

[mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Steve Warnock I remember reading that some of this will
be addressed in a service pack. Until then, can’t you access
the database directly and make multiple changes there en mass? Thanks, Steve Warnock Advanced Computer Connections 419-668-4080 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
[mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Auger, Jay (IS) Also, how
about the ability to change the properties of multiple devices at once.
For instance, i am going through (1 by 1) and changing the devices types from
the default of 'Workstation' to what they actually are. If I could select
multiple it would save a lot of time... Jay From:

[mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of I would like to know if there is any way to apply an action
or action policy to multiple devices at once. I need to apply the same
action for up/down alerting to over 200 devices. In WUG, you could apply
an alert to multiple devices at once. Where has that feature gone.
