I understand that companies evolve. Seems to me that Ipswitch's inflexible response to it's core users requests have shown that they choose to evolve outside of what they are being asked (begged) for. This is a simple request, and it has been ignored, repeatedly.
I have basically not been keeping up on developments of the new product as a result of not having the email list as it was. The end result of which will be less product interest and loyalty. When we need to re-address our monitoring needs, this effectively puts other products on the same level playing field as Ipswitch has thrown away it's influence with me. Remember, technology, or a good product does not win the day, customer support and mindshare does. Ever heard of Windows, MS Office, Ethernet, TCP/IP? All of these had rivals that were/are technically superior, but they were easier to use, were marketed well, and had mindshare. Come on guys, companies change and evolve. Ipswitch is a sizable company and it takes time to recover after some poor decisions. If you decide to move on, I think you should continue to watch them as I've been privy to the next version of WhatsUp Pro and am optimistic that some nice improvements are coming. WUG is not dead, just Ipswich's sanity is died. They have chosen to stop listing to most of their diehard customers. I have to rewrite all of my custom pages and scripts to convert to their new product, so it is a good time for me to look at other software.
