Also, notice that I didn't try very hard to optimize the wicket application. For example, I don't use optimizeItemRemoval = true and then manually removeAll() on deletes. I could have done that, but there are probably corrosponding optimizations for Tapestry that I just don't know about because I don't use it. Also, the Tapestry app is totally stateless, so that may give it an edge, but I dunno for sure.
