I completely agree with Derrick. I think the navigation box should be at the top, above the "top content" box, as the default for all users.
I understand the rationale behind putting "top content" up front -- we're trying to encourage new users to explore the site. Still, I think the navigation box is much more important. Anybody who's used a wiki before is going to be looking for "Recent changes" when they get to the site; that's always my first click. Taking that out of people's view is guaranteed to frustrate the kinds of people who would be most likely to contribute. I like the "top content" box, but I think the job of showcasing content should be done mainly by the wiki's front page. The sidebar is for navigation and help, and cluttering that important area with more content links is redundant and off-putting. -- Danny
