There is a range of crieria that we can test and then see which one fits our needs the best (i.e. what exactly do we want to learn and understand). Also, I still did not find the time to go through the papers that you have provided - maybe someone has already figured out some good, working criteria. This is a first shot at the data and analysis that we are discussing here. I don't see the question posed as simple in any sense. Maybe a concise meeting/brainstorming on this would do us good?
