There's a node implementation <https://github.com/wikimedia/restevent> which is ready to be used, and there's a WIP python effort <https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/235671>. They both strive to fulfil the MVP's requirements from this task's description. The former was created by the Services team as a quick-start solution (not implying this entails lesser quality).
