Thanks for you feedback Alison, it's really helpful to hear about your
first steps.

I agree that seeing that others are involved in a given project is one of
the things that makes my contributions feel worthwhile. I'd guess that
seeing contributions by others conveys the feeling that the project (and by
extension my contributions) are beneficial to others.
