Hi Alison,

Great that you've connected with Rob! Rob is WikiEducator's resident
pedagogical template guru.

There's no restriction on suggesting and/or building new templates in
WikiEducator. The power to innovate is in your hands -- it's the wiki way
:-). The only caveat is while experimenting, it's best to create a new
template rather than modifying an existing one -- this way, we avoid causing
problems on existing pages in the event of a new bug introduced during the
development and testing of a new template. Rest assured -- you're in good
hands working with Rob.

I really like your suggestion relating to a small group to discuss the
design and implementation of pedagogical features in WE. At the moment, we
don't have a "formerly" constituted group looking at learning design issues
--- and I think that this is an excellent idea.

Are there any other WikiEducators who are interested in joining a WE
learning design workgroup? As a learning designer in one of my previous
lives -- I'm putting my hand up to join.

We currently have a funding proposal on the table with the Hewlett
Foundation -- if successful this will include work on improving the
pedagogical features of the wiki and it would be great to have a learning
design work group for WE.

Cheers
Wayne
