Hi Valerie,

That's a great idea.

Would it be possible to choose a course you are teaching this year? It need
not be a whole course -- possible a sub-component. I would undertake to
identify colleagues here at Otago Polytechnic as we have a default Creative
Commons IP Policy, and this would have strong support from the executive
leadership team at the Polytechnic. DeAnza College would be a great partner
given your institutional leadership in OER -- not too mention home of the
OER Centre for California (http://grou.ps/oercenter/)

WE could also consider the Open Course Collaboratory. This project aims to
develop course materials for a graduate elective on OER -- (See:
http://wikieducator.org/OCC).. The OER Centre for California has already
expressed interest to work on this -- so that's another possibility (see:
http://wikieducator.org/OER_Course_Collaboratory/Participants)

Another area which is possible a good candidate for this kind of pilot would
be professional development. Every college and university has a professional
development unit -- surely there are workshop topics which would lend
themselves well for collaborative OER development.

Thoughts?

Cheers
Wayne
