Hi Alison.

I think you're right community development and capability maturation are the
cornerstones for WikiEducators success :-).

Both suggestions (i.e. providing improved support for newbies to engage in
collaborative development and matching WikiEducators with existing projects
which are of interest for them are good ideas.)

WE've adopted an incremental learn-by-doing model which is working rather
well. With each iteration we get better at what we do. So for example, we're
tweaking our L4C workshops to provide more avenues for participants to
engage in existing projects. In addition there is a need for "intermediate"
level tutorials where we provide better support for "learning" how to
develop OER in the community. In the near future the OER Foundation will be
commissioning the development of these kinds of resources with the intention
of using the L4C training model for the next level of development and
support.

The trick, I think, is to find projects which are closely related to the
real working lives of our members and then connecting these projects with
others who share similar interests.

We're making the world a better place -- one day at a time :-)

Cheers
Wayne
