Hi Mallamibro, You make valid points with reference to an "indexing" system and classifying OER projects according to different needs and purposes.
WE already have a content index, portals for different sectors and levels in the education system. We have good prototype examples for metadata for different WE resources and the Mediawiki software has a powerful category system for automatically generating different "indexes". The trouble is that most WikiEducators do not use these features. To be fair, we haven't spent enough time showing WikiEducators how to use these features. In addition, for most newbies these features in the wiki are confusing and not user friendly. We need to make it much easier for Newbies to index and classified their materials. Possibly a pop-up window with radio buttons and pull-down menu options which are easy to use and understand. As we raise more funding --- we will invest in developing these features. I also like your idea for announcing which pages or projects need further work - -we could organise international "working parties" or "barn raising" events to help with these tasks.
