This seems fine to me, as a Commons user. Commons is for any freely
licensed educational media -- if it's of use to anyone in the world,
even if it's not currently used on any other Wikimedia site, it's
appropriate to host on Commons.

Speaking of Commons... this would have been a healthy point to discuss
in the MP4 debate on Commons two months back. We should address it in
the future.

What about uploading directly to IA?

Wikimedians are discussing similar issues on the WM multimedia list,
and there is an effort afoot to channel uploads to the Internet
Archive so that they can be transcoded from any source format into
multiple viewing formats.

It would help move that conversation along to have active users and
reusers of video, like the wikieducator community, posting thoughts on
what you use and need.

Warmly,
Sam
